If you intend on completing the Tier 2 Venue Hygiene Officer Course, you do not need to complete the Tier 1 AHA Hospitality & Tourism COVID-19 Hygiene Course. The Tier 1 Hygiene course is contained in the Venue Hygiene Officer (Tier 2) course.

In 2020 the WA State Government funded the Australian Hotels Association (WA) to deliver the hygiene training course to 75,000 people, ensuring the safe re-opening of WA’s Hospitality & Tourism businesses.

The AHA (WA) donated a further 100,000 courses, valued at over $2.7 million dollars, to the WA community, delivering a total of 175,000 courses.

We are pleased to be able to continue to provide the training course at the discounted price of $18 per person, instead of the original price of $27.

Charities & Public Schools

If you are the official representative of a WA Government education institution or the CEO or manager of a registered charity, the AHA WA has a limited number of Hospitality Hygiene scholarships that provide a further discounted rate that may be available for your staff or students. Private for-profit training institutions and clubs may access the $18 discounted rate and are not eligible for further discounts.

For Charities & Public Schools to apply for the scholarships that provide a further discounted rate, please email train@ahawa.asn.au and kindly provide background information to support your application.

  • Expected number of participants, including time range for completion
  • Relevant background information to support application

This course is for those staff who have been specifically selected by their business to be the designated Venue Hygiene Officer on duty. It is recommended by the AHA as good practice to have at least one (1) designated Hygiene Officer on duty at all times.

Please confirm with your venue or business that you are going to be or have been designated as a Venue Hygiene Officer.
